Born in Northern Virginia, USA, and running away to the Caribbean when I was in my mid twenties, I always knew there was something special for me to paint.  During my second scuba dive, even after several years snorkeling from small cruising sailboats, I was dumbfounded to realize that here was my long sought for subject, the unseen underwater world of the coral reef.

 

Finally settling into a house in the wooded hills of Saint Croix, the quiet island of the US Virgins, I am painting in my studio nearly every day.  Someday I might have a glass submarine studio for painting on site underwater, but until then I must weild my camera on dives that seem to end so quickly.
